Purpose Passion and Parenting with Autism

One in sixty eight American children are now diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Forty years ago few parents knew about this disorder or the behaviors that surrounded it. This disorder is usually diagonised in young children between the age of two and four years of age in varying degrees. This disorder covers a complex difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. Although there isn’t a cure, research, education and public awareness has helped overcome many of the ongoing struggles that parents encounter. Please be patient with these families.

As a mother of a daughter with autism, my hope is that every parent will seek answers to help their child find their own special passion. Keep believing. When you give hope and encouragement, your child can do the impossible. Speak victory into their hearts. If you compare them to other children, you will get discouraged and so will they.  My child was 15 years old before she was diagnosed. I finally discovered how  to embrace her passions and understand her challenges.   With God all things are possible to him that believes  Matthew 19:26
